The Hemingway
A digital experience with a rebellious streak.
The Hemingway is a unique steakhouse concept created to serve some of Tulsa’s finest food within the atmosphere of a Prohibition-era speakeasy. Sophisticated, intimate, and slightly subversive, the brand balances timeless quality with an unmistakable underground edge.
We were approached by a close friend and collaborator to design and develop a website that would bring their existing brand to life online.
Breaking the expected pattern.
A conventional restaurant website would not have captured what makes The Hemingway special. Instead of creating a familiar vertical experience, we designed the desktop site to unfold horizontally.
As visitors scrolled up and down, the website moved from side to side, gradually revealing the restaurant’s story. This unexpected interaction created a sense of discovery and made the experience feel more like entering a hidden speakeasy than browsing a typical restaurant website.

Quality with an edge
Every element was designed to balance elegance with rebellion. Refined typography, rich imagery, dramatic pacing, and unconventional movement helped communicate the quality of the restaurant while preserving its darker, underground character.
The result was a website that did more than present information. It extended the atmosphere of The Hemingway into a memorable digital experience, giving guests their first taste of the restaurant before they ever walked through the door.
